UNICEF TEAM VISITS KANO SUBEB

The Executive Chairman, State Universal Basic Education Board Mallam Yusif Kabir has reiterated the Board’s resolved to continue with working with relevant stakeholders willing to support Basic Education System in the State.
Malam Yusif Kabir disclosed this in his office when he received the UNICEF team led by its education specialist, Mallam Muntaka Muhammed during a courtesy Call.

The Chairman said one top agenda of present administration of Governor Engr. Abba Kabir Yusif is Education development which has been one of the core mission and vision of UNICEF intervention at ensuring access and equity to all children of School age.
He re-emphasized that working with UNICEF is mandatory in view of its long time bond and consistency in its project development mandate with Kano State and in Nigeria at large.
he Executive Chairman while responding on areas of intervention expressed concern on the need for UNICEF to consider special programmes on Girls Education, issues of Out of School Children and Integration of Qua’anic and Islamiyya School.

“As good partner in progress, I’m assuring you the total support of the Board and the government” he added.
Earlier the Education specialist,
Muttaka Muhammad said they were at the Chairman’s office to congratulate him on his appointment as Executive Chairman of the Board and to brief him on the arrangement to conduct this year Education day celebration coming up on Wednesday 24th of this month.
He added that the celebration is geared towards showcasing achievement in education sector in the state and also to discuss challenges and way forward.
‘We want you to participate actively in this year celebration and for you to tell the world what you have achieved so far while also pointing out key challenges for collective responsibility’’ He added
