The Kano State Head of Service, Abdullahi Musa, has expressed grave concern and reiterated the imperative of confidentiality among civil servants.
The Head of Service made the emphatic statement during the weekly Joint Directorate meeting, a longstanding tradition held every Friday at the office conference hall, according to a press statement signed by Director of Public Enlightenment, Bintu Nuhu Wali.

The Head of Service emphasized that maintaining the secrecy of official assignments and duties is a sacred trust and a critical aspect of their responsibilities

Musa stressed that breaching confidentiality can have severe consequences, compromising the integrity of the government and undermining public trust.

He, therefore, urged all civil servants to uphold the highest standards of discretion and loyalty, ensuring that sensitive information is protected and only shared on a need-to-know basis.

By doing so, he said, civil servants will not only uphold their professional oath but also contribute to the overall effectiveness and success of the government.

“This forum convenes the Head of Service, management staff, and other schedule officers in the office to foster collaboration, share best practices, and address pressing issues.”

He also underscored the significance of firm dedication and tireless effort in fulfilling the responsibilities entrusted to civil servants, stressing that hard work and commitment are essential to driving progress and achieving the desired goals.

The Permanent Secretary of Establishment, Umar Muhammad Jalo, also cautioned that divulging sensitive information can lead to embarrassing repercussions, damage to reputations, and potentially harmful outcomes, not only for individuals but also for the government and the state at large.

Jalo emphasized that maintaining secrecy is a sacred trust and a vital aspect of their responsibilities and that civil servants must exercise utmost care in handling sensitive information to avoid compromising the integrity of the government and the public’s desire
