UBEC/KNSUBEB Host Three-Day Workshop for Quality Assurance Officers

The Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Abuja in collaboration with the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB),Kano has organized a three-day capacity-building workshop for Quality Assurance Officers in the education sector.
Speaking at the opening ceremony held in the state capital, the Executive Chairman of the Kano State Universal Basic Education Board, Malam Yusuf Kabir, emphasized the significance of the workshop, noting the critical role Quality Assurance Officers play in monitoring teaching standards in schools.
Represented by the Permanent Commissioner, I Hon. Wada Ibrahim Daho, Malam Yusuf stated that the training aligns with the state government’s commitment to improving basic education, which includes lower and Upper Basic schools.
He further noted that the workshop will equip officers with new work strategies aimed at identifying and addressing challenges in teaching and learning. This he said, this will also empower officers with a better understanding of effective teaching practices.
Malam Yusuf urged participants to pay close attention to the training, as the knowledge gained is expected to transform the state’s educational system.
Additionally, he extended his gratitude to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his unwavering efforts in promoting and developing basic education across the state.
He commended the Governor for several impactful initiatives, including the construction of additional classrooms, renovation of dilapidated school buildings, provision of instructional materials, and continued prioritization of teachers’ welfare. These interventions, he said, have significantly improved the learning environment and boosted morale among educators.
In his remarks, the Director of Quality Assurance at SUBEB, Malam Muazu Magaji, explained that the workshop was jointly organized by the UBEC and KNSUBEB to train professionals on maintaining and improving educational quality at the Basic Education level.
He revealed that 25 officers were carefully selected from the Quality Assurance department to undergo training in modern evaluation techniques, which will help improve teaching and learning outcomes in schools across the state.
He concluded by thanking the SUBEB Executive Chairman, Malam Yusuf Kabir, for his dedication to ensuring educational quality in the State
