SUBEB and Save the Children Bring Back Thousands of Children to School in Three LGEAs

The Acting Executive Chairman of the Kano State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Hon. Wada Ibrahim Daho, has reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to continue partnering with any organization that supports efforts to provide children with both Islamic and Western education across the state.
Hon. Daho made this statement during a graduation ceremony held in Minjibir Local Government Area, for children who completed their foundational learning under the Save the Children International PLANE Window3 FCDO funding project.

He explained that the initiative aligns perfectly with the vision of the Kano State Government under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, which focuses on ensuring that all out-of-school children return to classrooms.
Hon. Daho commended Save the Children for its dedication to improving education and pledged SUBEB’s continuous collaboration to strengthen learning opportunities in all communities.
In his remarks, the Ag Education Manager Adam Abubakar Sherif, revealed that a total of 29,000 children were trained in reading and writing skills across Ajingi, Minjibir, and Makoda Local Government Areas.
Also speaking, Chrystal Holt, Senior Education Advisor (UK) of Save the Children, appreciated the communities for their strong support and cooperation. She expressed hope that the education the children received would serve as a solid foundation for their continued academic progress up to the university level.
The District Head of Minjibir, Danburam of Kano, Alhaji Umar Sunusi Bayero, also expressed his gratitude to Save the Children and SUBEB for implementing the program in his domain, promising to continue supporting all initiatives aimed at promoting education.
Highlights of the event included speeches by the graduating pupils delivered in English, as well as the presentation of certificates and school uniforms to children who completed their Training.
