Kano Governor Pledges Support for UBEC/SUBEB Projects

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusif, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to partnering with the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) to advance basic education in the state.

The Governor made this pledge when he received the UBEC Executive Secretary, Hajiya Aisha Garba, who paid him a courtesy visit to discuss the ongoing construction of Bilingual Schools in the state.

Hajiya Aisha commended the Governor for his commitment to improving education in the state and appealed for his support in commissioning the fully completed Bilingual School in Kiru Local Government Area before the end of December.

The Governor assured the UBEC Executive Secretary that his administration will continue to support UBEC’s initiatives, citing the state government’s recent sponsorship of students abroad for postgraduate studies and its plans to deploy qualified teachers and essential staff to ensure a conducive learning environment in the new school.

The UBEC Executive Secretary revealed that the Bilingual Schools are being constructed with funding from the Islamic Development Bank, the Federal Government, and the Kano State Government, and announced that similar schools are under construction in Doguwa, Ungogo, and Ganduje.

Hajiya Aisha appealed to the Governor to maintain strict supervision of the projects to ensure quality and timely completion, and thanked him for his unwavering commitment to improving education in the state.

The visit was part of Hajiya Aisha’s tour to inspect the construction of Bilingual Schools in Kano State and to discuss final preparations for the commissioning of the school in Kiru Local Government Area
