The Association of Primary School Head Teachers of Nigeria (AoPSHON) has conveyed its condolence message to the Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Malam Yusuf Kabir, over the death of the Deputy Director, Planning, Research and Statistics, Alhaji Tijjani Shattima, and the Education Secretary of Bichi Local Government, Malam Auwal Idris, who passed away in recent days.
The condolence message was delivered by the Secretary of the Union, Comrade Bilkisu T. Abdulkadir, who spoke on behalf of the AoPSHON Chairman, Comrade Malam Abdussalam Sumaila. She expressed deep sorrow and grief over the painful loss suffered by the education sector in the state.
Comrade Bilkisu Abdulkadir described the late Tijjani Shattima and Malam Auwal Idris as dedicated, hardworking, and committed officers who rendered selfless service to the development of basic education and the effective administration of public service. She noted that their passing has created a huge vacuum that will be difficult to fill, not only within SUBEB but also across the wider education community in the state.
While offering prayers for the repose of their souls, she prayed that Almighty Allah forgives their shortcomings, rewards their good deeds, and grants them eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus. She also prayed for Allah to grant their families, colleagues, and the entire SUBEB family the strength, patience, and fortitude to bear the great loss.
AoPSHON further assured the SUBEB management of its solidarity and support during this period of mourning, and reaffirmed the Union’s commitment to working closely with the Board to uphold and build upon the legacies left behind by the late officers, in the collective effort to advance education in the state.
