The Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Malam Yusuf Kabir, has called on all stakeholders and members of the public to actively support the development of education as a critical pathway to sustainable growth in Kano State.

Malam Yusuf Kabir made this call during an inspection visit to Tarauni Local Government Area, where he assessed the ongoing construction of new Classrooms and the renovation of existing ones within the area.

Expressing satisfaction with the progress and quality of the projects, the SUBEB Chairman commended the successful execution of school construction and renovation works across various local government areas in the state.

He commended the Member of the State House of Assembly representing Tarauni Local Government Area, Hon. Kabiru Dahiru Sule, for the importance he places on the construction of new classrooms, the renovation of existing ones, and the provision of desks and chairs.

According to him, despite the concerted efforts of the Kano State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, in constructing and rehabilitating numerous classrooms, there remains a strong need for individuals in positions of authority and the general public to come up with additional ways to support education.

This, he said, would help actualize the Governor’s vision of prioritizing education as the foundation for overall development in the state.

On security matters, Malam Yusuf Kabir urged Local Government Chairmen to urgently collaborate with the State Ministry for Local Government to recruit security guards who will safeguard primary and junior secondary schools across their respective areas.

The SUBEB Chairman used the opportunity to commend Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his firm commitment to addressing longstanding challenges hindering educational development in the state.

He noted that the government has so far constructed numerous new classrooms, renovated dilapidated school buildings, recruited new teachers, and is currently planning further recruitment. In addition, the government has successfully resolved the issue of teachers’ promotions, alongside other welfare-related concerns.

Malam Yusuf Kabir reaffirmed SUBEB’s commitment to working with all stakeholders to ensure a conducive learning environment and sustainable progress in the education sector across Kano State.
