Kano State Government Excels, Devotes More Than 30% of Annual Budget to Education — Executive Secretary, KSSSSMB

The Executive Secretary Kano State Senior Secondary Schools Management Board Hon. Rabiu Sale Gwarzo, has highlighted the remarkable progress in the education sector under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
Speaking during a three-day capacity-building workshop for school principals in Kaduna, themed “Anti-Corruption, Financial Fraud, Leadership, and Ethical Values,” he emphasized that the consistent allocation of over 30% of the state’s annual budget to education is groundbreaking in Kano State’s budget history.
Hon. Gwarzo noted that this adjusted budgetary commitment reflects the state government’s dedication to improving educational infrastructure, learning outcomes, and teachers’ welfare across all senior secondary schools. He further urged school principals to complement these government initiatives by ensuring efficient management and the delivery of quality service.
The Executive Secretary also acknowledged Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s approval for the recruitment of additional teaching and non-teaching staff, aimed at strengthening the workforce and enhancing service delivery within Kano State’s education sector.
During his address, the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Gwani Dr. Ali Haruna Makoda, highlighted the state government’s commitment to education and expressed readiness to implement more visible, policies aimed at improving infrastructure, teaching quality, and students’ academic performance across the state.
Participants at the workshop, including Principal GGC Kano, the ANCOPSS President Kano State Chapter, Hajiya Uwani Ahmad Balarabe, and the Principal KTC Kano, Comrade Abdu Usman Yalo, who is also the ASSUS Kano State Chapter Chairman, expressed appreciation to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for providing them with the opportunity to enhance their skills and capacity through the training program.as contained in a Press Release issued One light news by the Director Public Enlightenment of the Board Usman Datti Abdullahi
