Nasarawa State Smart Model 1 school Lafia set to Commence academic session

In its efforts to improve  the delivering quality Basic Education in Public schools to all school- age children, the Universal Basic Education Commission ( UBEC) in collaboration with the Korea International Corporation Agency ( KOICA) has recently embarked on an ambitious programme to establish Smart School in all the 36 states and the FCT across the nation.

This programme is a bold attempt by the Universal Basic Education Commission ( UBEC) to establish model schools that pervasively use technology to provide a good  opportunity to Nigerian children to access quality education as their colleagues in other parts of the world enjoying.

Nasarawa State,  Smart Model 1 school  Lafia,  like the other Smart School the school has the following features; Physical infrastructures, Hardware infrastructures, Furnitures, Software, Smart Classrooms, Library/ e- library, Computer and science laboratories, workshops and Smart boards.

The Smart School also deploy modern methods of education that take the advantage of ICTs by using various modules like computer, tablets, interactive white boards, projectors, videos, cameras and School Management software solutions for the learning and management processes.

The School  designed to accommodate, Early Childhood Care Development and Education( ECCDE ), Primary School and the Junior Secondary School sections each with its own Management and facilities.

The Universal Basic Education Commission( UBEC) in conjunction with Korea International Corporation Agency ( KOICA) have sponsored four teachers from Nasarawa State to South Korea to receive intensive training after they were subjected to a Computer Best Test ( CBT) examination conducted by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board( JAMB).

The Nasarawa State Smart School is expected to commence academic activities by September 2023.
