PROMOTION VERIFICATION EXERCISE YIELDS FRUITFULL RESULT

The Executive Chairman, State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) Malam Yusif Kabir has said the Board had recovered Thirty Six Million Naira during promotion verification exercise conducted by the Board.

Malam Yusif Kabir announced this during an interaction with the Executive of Local Government Pay roll standing committee when they paid him a courtesy visit in his office.

The Executive Chairman, said the Board observed that there was irregularities in implementation of promotion by past administration and this prompted for the removal of the promotion followed by verification exercise

“To ensure that only those who are due were promoted appropriately, a review of the promotion was conducted and the finding is highly impressive, where we recovered the sum of thirty six million Naira which was flushed to teachers who were either not due or wrongly promoted to the unexpected levels” the Chairman said

“Our findings also revealed that a non-teaching staff on grade three was promoted to grade level thirteen without any additional Qualifications” he lamented

According to him the administration of Governors Eng Abba Kabir Yuisf has good intentions to improve teachers’ welfare and this could only be achieved if due process are adhere to strictly.

“Teachers were denied their promotion until last minute when the promotion were implemented indiscriminately and now we verified and implemented the corrected promotion accordingly.” He said
He used the occasion to caution staff against taking unnecessary loans which eventually turn to economic burden on them.
“We want improve our soft loan as means of assisting teachers to cope with economic situation” He reiterated
In his remark, the Chairman, Local Government Pay Roll Standing committee Mallam Umar Idi said they were at the Board to introduce themselves to the Executive Chairman and also to brief the Board on the mandate and responsibility of the committee.
While congratulating the Executive Chairman on his appointment Malam Umar Idi solicited the support and cooperation of the Board so as to achieve fruitful result in discharging their assignment.
