FCT (UBEB) host an agricultural debate competition for public schools

The FCT Universal Basic Education Board (UBEB) organized an agricultural debate competition for public junior secondary and primary school pupils in the territory. The event aimed to stimulate learners’ interest in agriculture and promote self-reliance.

Mrs. Jacqueline Amasike, Director of Teacher Professional Development, represented Dr. Alhassan Sule, Acting Executive Chairman of UBEB. She emphasized the importance of agriculture and the program’s goal of developing skilled farmers to enhance Nigeria’s food production.

The competition, held among 12 schools (6 junior secondary and 6 primary), featured a debate on the topic “Animal production is better than crop production.” Participants argued for and against the motion

According the statement the winners includes :

– Primary category:
– 1st place: LEA Primary School Nomadic Dutse
– 2nd place: LEA Primary School Shere
– 3rd place: LEA Primary Shadadi
– Junior Secondary category:
– 1st place: JSS Pegi
– 2nd place: JSS Dawaki
– 3rd place: JSS Kuchiko
