State Universal Basic Education Board to Collaborate with State Councilors’ Forum to Promote Education from the Grassroots – SUBEB Executive Chairman

The Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Malam Yusuf Kabir, has stated that the Board will collaborate with the State Councilors’ Forum to promote education from the grassroots.

Malam Yusuf Kabir made this statement during a meeting with the leadership of the Councilors’ Forum, who paid him a courtesy visit at his office located at the Board’s headquarters in Audu Bako Secretariat.

In his remarks, the Chairman highlighted some of the achievements of Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf’s administration in the education sector. He explained that the government has constructed many new classrooms, renovated dilapidated ones, and provided both teachers’ and students’ furniture.

He further stressed that despite the government’s efforts, there is a need for councilors to give priority to education whenever they are entrusted with constituency projects.

Additionally, he urged the councilors to devise strategies for sensitizing their communities on the importance of enrolling children in school and also bringing back those who have dropped out.

In his response, the Chairman of the State Councilors’ Forum, who is also the Councilor representing Achika Ward in Wudil Local Government Area, Hon. Bashir Shehu Aliyu Achika, stated that the visit has given them the opportunity to understand the efforts of Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf’s administration in promoting education.

He added that the visit has also helped them identify areas where their support is needed, assuring of their commitment to provide assistance wherever necessary
