The Director of Social Mobilization at the Kano State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Balarabe Danlami Jazuli, has called on teachers participating in the ongoing training on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) to pay close attention and adopt the new teaching strategies introduced to enhance their classroom performance and improve pupils’ learning outcomes.
Jazuli made the call during his monitoring visit to the training venue at Dawanau Primary School, located in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area, where the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in collaboration with SUBEB is organizing a capacity-building workshop for teachers and school support officers.

According to him, the purpose of the visit was to assess the conduct of the workshop and provide useful guidance to ensure its success. He stressed that such trainings are vital for improving teaching standards, especially in literacy and numeracy, which form the foundation of all learning.
The Director expressed appreciation to the Acting Executive Chairman of SUBEB, Hon. Wada Ibrahim Daho, for granting approval for senior officials of the Board to monitor the exercise, noting that this gesture would go a long way in ensuring the training is effectively conducted in line with the set objectives.
He further commended UNICEF for its continuous support towards strengthening basic education in Kano State and reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to sustaining productive partnerships that promote quality teaching and learning across public primary schools.
Jazuli also reiterated the state government’s dedication, under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, to raising the standard of education through consistent teacher training and professional development programs aimed at achieving lasting improvements in pupils’ reading, writing, and numeracy skills
