The Executive Secretary Kano State Hospital Management Board, Dr. Mansur Mudi Nagoda has directed on all medical practitioners to make available a valid annual practicing license as a matter of urgency.
Dr Nagoda said all medical workers under Hospital Management Boars must have a validated annual license issued by their professional body adding that arrangements were made to pay unscheduled visit to all health facilities to check those complied with the directive.
He further said the decision was ensure that only professional are working in the facilities noting that those who are withoutlid professional license are practicing illegally and would be sanctioned according to the civil service law binding their profession.
Dr Nagoda ,maintained that a valid professional license is one of the requirements for promotional interview for senior staff, those who have already passed through the interview and found without proper documents the affected officers will not receive their promotional letters and their salaries will be withheld until they perfect their professional documents.
He however, stressed that all officers must abide by the civil service rules and professional ethic as contained in a press statement from Public Relation Officer of the Board Samira Suleiman which made available to One Light News
