KADSUBEB, UBEC Mobilize Stakeholders for 2025 School Enrollment Drive in Kaduna

Kabir Lawal, the Director of Social Mobilisation at the Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Board (KADSUBEB), represented the Acting Executive Chairman, Mubarak Mohammed, during an advocacy and sensitization visit organized by the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) North West Zone in collaboration with KADSUBEB.
The event, which took place at Government Secondary School (GSS), Rigasa, in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, was part of efforts to promote school enrollment under the 2025 Out-of-School Children Enrollment Drive.
In her keynote address, the Director of UBEC North West Zone, Hajia Sidikat Shomope, called on community leaders to take the campaign seriously and collaborate to ensure that every child of school-going age is enrolled in a basic education school. She underscored the significance of grassroots involvement, stressing that “education is power” and “knowledge is the key to success,” while placing special emphasis on the importance of girl-child education.
The event attracted stakeholders from across the education sector, including representatives of the District Head of Rigasa, Mallam Isma’il Muhammad; Education Secretaries from Igabi, Kaduna South, and Kaduna North; School-Based Management Committee (SBMC) Chairmen; Social Mobilization Officers (SMOs); religious and community leaders; members of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT); as well as staff from UBEC and KADSUBEB.
The visit highlighted the collective commitment to reducing the number of out-of-school children and reaffirmed the importance of education in community development.
