NASU Kano Commends Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for Recruiting 7,688 Teachers to Strengthen Education

The Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU), SUBEB branch, under the leadership of its State Chairman, Comrade Aminu Maikudi, has commended the Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, for the recruitment of 7,688 new teachers aimed at improving the education sector.
Speaking during an interaction with journalists, Comrade Aminu Maikudi described the initiative as a clear indication of the government’s commitment to addressing key challenges in the education sector, particularly the shortage of teachers.
He noted that the recruitment would significantly reduce the workload on existing teachers while creating a more effective teaching and learning environment across schools in the state.
According to him, the engagement of over 4,000 teachers on a permanent basis represents a major step forward in strengthening workforce stability and boosting morale within the education system.
The union also praised the Governor for his ongoing efforts to reform the sector through provision of instructional materials, renovation of school facilities, and introduction of sustainable policies.
Furthermore, he urged the newly recruited teachers to demonstrate honesty, dedication, and commitment in their duties to ensure the success of the initiative.
He also called on teachers recruited under the Better Education Service Delivery for All (BESDA) programme to intensify their efforts, noting that their performance would support advocacy for their eventual confirmation as permanent staff.
The Chairman , NASU stated that Kano State remains among the leading states in Nigeria in teacher recruitment and educational development, urging other states to emulate this model for national progress.
In addition, Comrade Aminu Maikudi called on the Kano State Government to consider the possibility of recruiting more senior and junior personnel as Non-Academic Staff to support teaching activities and improve the overall administration of schools.
